The Levy family general store and blacksmith shop. The Levy family set down their roots in Big Beaver Township (now Troy, Michigan) during the late 1800s.

Ford Motor Rouge Plant, Detroit News, 1924. In 1918, Ed Levy and Henry Ford began doing business on a simple handshake. Ford's new Rouge Plant was the site of heavy steel production. Tons of slag, an iron and steel making byproduct, were trucked away by Levy. Soon, Levy began crushing slag and marketing it as a road base material, an innovation ahead of its time. This successful, longstanding relationship continues on today.

In 1966, Ed Levy assisted the Michigan Trucking Association (MTA), authoring an ordinance requiring loaded trucks crossing Michigan to be weighed. In 2001, Levy seizes an opportunity to acquire powerful scarfing torch technology from the Donzé SARL company of France. Within two years, the sophisticated robotic system expands business at subsidiary Indiana Flame Services in Burns Harbor, Indiana.

2005 Reconstruction of the Sea Cliff Bridge, NSW, Australia
EcoCem is a joint venture between Levy and Cement Australia. A customized product using granulated blast furnace slag became the major construction component for the underwater tunnel in Sydney Harbor, Australia.
Frankenmuth Fish Passage Project. This project reconnected the fish of the Saginaw Bay to more than 73 miles of historically significant inland spawning areas near the Cass River Dam. Weir stone from northern Michigan was supplied by Wallace Stone for this project.

The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan. In 2009, Levy, in collaboration with several other paving contractors, reconstructed the Henry Ford Clock Tower circular drive with materials and labor at no cost to the museum.
